Guide to Shopping the Sephora Spring VIB Sale

Hello beautiful people!

It's that time again, time for the eagerly awaited VIB sale!

Even for a well-seasoned shopper like myself, this sale can have my head spinning with all the beauty-buy possibilities. Shopping from my loves list doesn’t help, because that is a mile long. So, how does one manage to make the most of this semi-annual sale without also going bankrupt? Well, take a deep breath and check out my list of tips for shopping without regrets.

1. Limited edition items

These sales are the perfect time to grab some of the limited edition items, such as seasonal eye shadow palettes or collaborations. Once these items are gone, they just are. Everyone else will be using this time to grab these kinds of items. So, don’t be left out in the cold wishing for a product that will never be available again.

2. Makeup collection staples

All of the products that you cannot live without: Your ABH Brow Wiz. That Laura Mercier Translucent powder. Your go-to concealer & foundation… You know you will be buying these products again sometime within the next several months. You also know that you will be paying full price for them until the next VIB sales comes around in December. So, why not take advantage of this sale and stock up on all of your essentials with at least enough to carry you through the next few months or so.

3. Splurge items

Have you been eyeing the newest Natasha Deanna palette? Me neither.

But, seriously, now is the time to grab one or two of the pricer items that you have been wishing was just a little less expensive so you could grab it. Perfumes are a really good option for this category. They tend to be much more expensive than most makeup products and they are a great value because you can wear them everyday. So, go ahead and grab your new signature scent!

4. Risks

Thinking of stepping out of your comfort zone? Wanting that bright eyeshadow or bold lipstick color? Do it! Minimize your risk by grabbing it while it’s on sale. I highly suggest swatching and trying the product on when possible. 1. This may make it a bit easier for you to decide because you can actually see what it will look like in person, and 2. You won’t be surprised by any differences in shade, hue or texture compared to what you see online or in ads. Thankfully, Sephora is awesome about having testers for pretty much everything.
